Computer repair can be confusing.
When you need your computer repaired you’re facing a lot of options and a bad choice can lead to a costly repair that you really didn’t need.
So, lets look at your choices…
Who should you ask about the repairs?
You can talk about you damaged computer with friends, a local teenager, a family member, or a neighbor. Maybe, if you feel confident and it’s a simple hardware problem, you may want to let them a try to fix it. If the problem is a virus or the internal workings of a laptop you should think twice. If these types of repairs are botched you will be facing additional cost, lost files, or even a totally useless computer. Even if you don’t feel confident with their repair skills you may get some good advice about where to take it. Our customers are always referring friends and family to Computer Genius.
Is your computer is worth repairing?
This can be a hard decision if you don’t have all the information. To help you we’ll offer some free advice:
- A free diagnostic of your primary repair and the estimated cost. You shouldn’t have to pay a diagnostic fee just to see if your computer is worth repairing. The decision to have your computer repaired is ultimately yours and you shouldn’t have to pay to decide that it just isn’t worth putting money in an old computer.
- A free comparison of your current system to a new system. We are a service center, not a seller of new laptops or tablets. Even so, we will tell you to go to the “big box store” and buy a new laptop instead of putting money in the old one. A satisfied customer is worth more than any single sale.
- A free software review to determine your upgrade options. You may have certain software that just won’t work on the latest version of Windows. We can review your needs and let you know if upgrading is an option for you. In some cases, if your older software won’t work on the newer Windows, we can tell you about Microsoft’s special offers for your situation.
